Dear Colleagues,

We are writing to bring news about the 16th International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems and Sliding Mode Control (VSS 2022).

Based on the current scenario (after the Carnival period) and all the measures taken to keep Rio de Janeiro a safe place to host our event, the organizing committee has decided for a face-to-face workshop.

This decision was also supported by our understanding that a hybrid conference would not work for us. It may be simple for European conferences because all people are almost in the same time-zone, but there are no good time slots to accommodate so many countries spread around the globe. In this case, the hybrid mode would serve only to not attract people to come to Rio, which obviously is not the desire of all of us.

Regarding the submissions, regular papers with 6 pages are the chosen type, keeping the tradition of our event. The registration fees are provided in the link:

A deadline extension for paper submissions to April 15th is scheduled so that you can prepare your papers smoothly.
